Gateway to Life Programme (a brief overview)

The Gateway to Life is a series of seven booklets aimed at helping people explore various aspects of the Christian faith. Each booklet is meant to be a shared journey designed be undertaken in a small group of people, or a family. They should be willing to discuss together every question that may arise and explore what The Bible has to say about each one. The Christian life is a process of personal discovery.

1. GtL No. 1- The Fundamentals (Green): This is a very basic introduction to Christianity. It looks at the 4 fundamental issues on which our faith is based.

2. GtL No.2 – Moving Forward (Blue): This identifies 7 foundational elements of the Christian faith which are essential for people wishing to grow and move towards spiritual maturity.

3. GtL No. 3 – Breaking Free (Red): This gives people a strategy of 3 things to explore, then 5 steps to take to identify and deal with any issues that may be blocking their spiritual growth.

4. GtL No. 4 – Understanding The Holy Spirit (White): This aims to dispel any worries and misunderstandings about The Holy Spirit by considering His 3 distinct roles and then answering some of the major questions that frequently arise.

5. GtL No. 5 – Exploring Worship (Orange): This helps people explore the wider concepts of developing a worshipping lifestyle by looking at 5 key elements.

6. GtL No. 6 – Christian Paradoxes (Pink): This identifies some major issues that may cause people to struggle with faith as they move towards spiritual maturity.

7. GtL No. 7 – Spiritual Maturity (Purple): Here we consider some of the behaviours that lead towards Spiritual Maturity and the characteristics that should be evident in those who reach it.

The Gateway to Life booklets are produced by ‘Positive Release’

“A five-fold approach to moving forward”

We are a completely independent organisation dedicated to the very highest standards of Psychotherapy, Training and Guidance based on tried, tested and proven Christian principles. We are based in Abergavenny, Wales. Our services are available to people of any faith, or of none.

Positive Release was formed in January 2006 to offer Counselling, Coaching, Teaching and Training to the wider public from a Christian perspective. We serve people mainly in the region of South Wales, but are happy to receive enquiries from anywhere.

We operate from our base in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, South Wales, UK.

Our foundation is the cathartic principle that for any person to reach their true potential in life, they are most likely to need some help :-

  • To release any negative influences from the past
  • To maximise their positive and creative abilities in the present
  • To plan to reach new heights of achievement in the future.

We adopt the philosophy of being ‘psychological gardeners’ – we help people to dig up, root out and get rid of anything that is unwanted, unhealthy or destructive in their lives, and then to help them plant, prune and nurture those things that are Positive, Helpful and Strengthening for them.

Our programmes tend to focus on the five spheres of human functioning – Physical, Emotional, Volitional, Rational, Spiritual – and our aims are to help people:-

  • Explore New Freedom
  • Expect New Opportunity
  • Experience New Power
